A Personal Story

One of the most challenging opportunities at BCG was to integrate special expertise into strategic thinking. In my first Social Impact project we performed pro bono work for an R&D institute that develops solutions that address the challenges with urban water treatment. Great part of our work consisted of understanding the technology developments that catalyze a paradigm shift in the way society approaches urban water treatment. We had to deep dive into the details of biological treatment processes in order to identify the competitive advantages of the solutions developed by our client. This learning process was a key step in helping us define the long term strategic goals.

I was motivated throughout the whole project because we created value for our client. We were able to transform their vision into a marketable concept.

Background

Prior joining BCG Viktoria worked in the Office of Fiscal Council of the Republic of Hungary as junior economist. She graduated at Corvinus University in 2009 and was CEEPUS student at the University of Economics Prague.

A Personal Story

During my studies I was becoming more and more interested in consulting, attended case study based courses and took part in case study competitions. A very typical way towards strategic consulting as a business student. Choosing BCG from the top consulting firms was a 'no brainer' for me after doing internships in the Budapest office during the preceding summers. I was amazed by the open and friendly atmosphere, the down to earth behavior of my colleagues and the motivating challenges the work provided.

I believe continuous learning and development has a high importance after university and BCG is a perfect place to achieve that. Being able to spend significant time with project leaders and partners enables learning from their huge experience and approach towards problem solving and thinking in complex structures. Besides professional development during case work and trainings there is a huge importance of personal development as well at BCG. You get detailed feedback after each case and project leaders are really committed to assist your personal advancement.

Background

Tamás earned his master's degree in economics from Corvinus University of Budapest, and spent a semester abroad in Copenhagen Business School as a member of the CEMS program in international management. During his studies he interned at BCG as a Visiting Associate and was a member of the winning team of BCG Strategy Cup 2008 Budapest. He joined the company as a full time associate in September 2010.
